205gti Driving Lamp Housing in UK

I need one of the plastic housings for my 205gti’s driving lamps.

The lamps are SIEM.

Is this available aftermarket, or is it a dealer-only part?

TIA

205 cabriolet rear windows – power hood version!

Hi, Have recently installed an electric roof to my manual roof car only
to find that the windows are a different shape!

Anyone know of a 205 cabriolet being scrapped anywhere? I’m on the hunt
for those windows!

Okay, this was a long time ago (over a year), but I finally fixed the
problem, so I thought it would be worth posting this to help others who
may have had this problem.

I took the top and bottom covers off the radio and couldn’t see anything
obviously wrong.  I noticed the front panel was held on with 4 screws
and the panel had a small PCB on it.  I removed the screws and removed
the front panel.  When I did this, I noticed there were 2 connectors
which plugged onto the main PCB of the radio.  One of these connectors
appeared very slightly wonky and on close inspection, I noticed that one
side of the connector had become detached.  There are 4 pads on each
side and all 4 on one side had become detatched, allowing it to flex and
move (and lose continuity).

I easily re-soldered them and tried it out and radio worked perfectly.
All seems to be related to the front panel connector.

Hope it might help someone in the future.

106 Immobiliser Problem

 have a 1997 106 Independence (petrol 1.1).  I wasn’t having a good day
today and had a blank trying to remember the code (after 3 years of not
once forgetting).  I entered the code in wrong three times (getting two
digits the wrong way round).  The immobiliser starts flashing red and
beeping as it is meant to.  This has never happened so I start bashing
away at the keypad trying to get some reaction (including pressing C).

Anyway after investigating the manual i leave it for half and hour
(keys out of ignition), gather my wits and remember the code.  anyway I
come back and enter the correct code and its not recognised!

i do this a few times, each time entering the correct code and getting
locked ot again.  the final time i left it for half an hour with the
ignition on but still no joy.

Please note that its not the both red and green light problem.

I’m worried that I’ve gone and reset the code while panicking at the
beeping, but surely a) the keypad would have been locked and b) I would
have seen the green light come on for confirmation of the code change.

Any suggestions?

Peugeot 106 XL Independence

Hi all,

Got a R reg 106 XL Independence, was running great up until a month ago, when cold… all seems well, idles perfectly, after a few minutes when the engine is at operating temperature, the idle seems to be quite low… to a point where it makes the car shudder/shake, once the revs are given to it.. all is ok and drives fine.

Only seems to be when warm.

Any suggestions ?

Hitting a Curb Hard!!

Its a long story, but on saturday I hit a curb really hard in my 306,
i’ve had a look at the damage, seems that my front suspension lower arm
is bent and snapped, and a platic rod is snapped, other stuff is bent,
but I don’t know what it is. I’ve got a Haynes manual which tells you
how to remove everythign etc. and my dad is good with cars, and my
uncles a mechanic. So basically I want to get the parts and repair it
with the help of my dad, and using my uncles tools, and he could
consult etc. if needed. However, I can’t find a exploded view of the
front assembley, so I can’t identify the parts I need to buy!

Does anyone know where I could find an exploded view of the front
assembley? I’ve had a look on the net, but can’t find anything, and the
haynes manual doesn’t have one either.

406 Estate Roof box

Hi all

I’ve just acquired a 1998 406 2litre estate with roof bars. I’ve also got
the roof box and bars for the old Xantia I used to have. These bars have
pads that bear on the roof and lock in place using holes in the door frame.
I see that the 406 has the same door frame holes with 2 holes per door. My
question is which of the two holes do I use or doesn’t it matter? When I got
the bars the instructions told me to use the front holes on the Xantia
although as the holes are only an inch or so apart I doubted whether it was
important.
