Juddering Problem

Hi
GF has a problem with her 206 1.4 (petrol).  Whilst accelerating the car
hesitates and there generally appears to be a loss of power.

My thoughts are that it is fuel related, maybe some crud in an injector, but
not knowing an awful lot about this particular engine I was hoping that
someone could advise if there could be any other *known* problems.

Things I am planning to try are – disconnect the battery for 30 mins to see
if an ECU reset will work, if not I was going to throw a bottle of injector
cleaner at it!

Any other ideas?

Nick.

51 206 1.4 LX Service (Self)

Hello,

I am thinking of servicing my 206 (petrol 51 plate) myself.  I intend to
change the oil, replace the oil filter,  the air filter and the spark
plugs.  My oil filter is the type that sits inside a housing (first car
I have had that has had this).

Is this a fairly straightforward job, will I need any special tools? ( I
have the usual socket set and spanners).

I have serviced my cars before, a Vauxhall Nova and an Austin Metro
which were fairly easy.

Thanks for your advidce

Possible Radiator Leak

Hi all,

I appear to have what I believe to be a radiator leak in my 306 Turbo
Diesel.  I have to top up my coolant every few weeks, and there is some
greeny blue gunk on the radiator.

I really don’t have a clue about cars and wonder if you guys could help me
not get ripped off!

1.  Is my diagnosis of a leak likely to be correct?
2.  Is radiator sealant a viable option to repair this or is that just
storing up problems for later?
3.  Can a garage repair this, or does it require a replacement radiator?
4.  How much is this likely to cost?
5.  I passed my MOT last week, should this have been picked up?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Sean

407 Haynes Manual

Does anyone know if there is a 407 Haynes manual. Not been able to find it in
any of the obvious places such as Halfords etc???

Very handy to have around :-)

406 indicator cancellation problem

Has anyone else found that the self cancelling on 02 406′s is awful? It is
impossible to keep indicating as you approach junctions unless the road is
totally straight, as even the lightest adjustment on the steering cancels
them, and it is a hell of a job forcing them back on against the cancelling
system. Trouble is they are so quiet and hard to see on the dash that its
not easy to realise they have knocked off, especially as you are busy
navigating a junction or roundabout etc.

What about actually snapping of the tabs that cancel them, does anyone think
it a good idea?

thanks Phil.

Fan P-Reg 406

My 406 heater fan has stopped working, this is the second fan since I’ve had
the car.  Are the fans fixable? If not where is the cheapest place to get a
replacement?

weird problem….306 clocks and steering wheel

Hi
 I have a 306 19d 1997/8, ok, I am 6" tall and as I sit in the driving seat
I cannot see the bottom lights i.e.. STOP. also I can just about see the
distance counter, def cannot see the total distance (mileage counter) the
steering wheel is set to its lowest position, even had the cover off to
check its not stuck. also I feel that the top of the steering wheel is a
little further away than it should be, I strain to do a U turn (not doing a
good job of explaining myself here) the wheel doesn’t seem to turn as though
it has been buckled or bent at some point………so is this normal or
should I look into a new wheel, the car drives perfectly otherwise and flew
thru its test……, oh and my seat is pumped up high if you get my drift?

Any help would be nice……take care all

2.0l 406.

Relative just acquired one, lpg/petrol dual fuel, GLX. 1999 model,-no
handbook. Lots of miles (like 225,000).
Anyone know the car, got a book? Bad/Good points?
Runs fine, but bit snuffly on lpg at gentle acceleration.

how does air flow sensor work?

Can someone  tell me how an air flow sensor works

Part two:

Does it follow that if all the input and output voltages are correct
then the circuit must be fault free?

Thanks
