i have just bought a 406td. the key i have unlocks all the doors ,but
pressing the button does nothing. the red light flashes on the key so
battery is ok. can anyone tell me how to reprogram it to operate the
central locking. thanks

this is an intermittant fault occurring mainly between 3/4 gears and
so far has only happened when I change up through the gears. i had the
clutch assembly replaced in january this year. it sounds like clutch
slip but it occurs when i start to depress the clutch pedal in
preparation to change gear. am wondering if there’s a chance the
accelerator cable is sticking, or maybe a leaky hose somewhere? there
are no obvious leaks or drips under the car.
Any ideas?!

Can anyone recommend a Good cheap garage (I know thats what everyone
wants but rarely get)in the liverpool/mersyside/wirral general area.

I need the timing belt plus aux belt on my 405td changing. The
cheapest quote ive got is £200 and that is at a garage i wouldnt use
since they messed a mates car up. I know its got to be possible to get
it cheaper (well i hope so) i just cant find one.

Would do it myself but ive never done one and i dont have the time or
access to the tools i need where im living to have a go.

hey guys, some jackass parked his bus/coach/lorry next to my car whilst I
was in spain for a week. The effect of this is that the rear bumper got so
hot it has sagged. Bit of a pain so now I’m looking for a 97/R model rear
bumper ONLY in the light blue. I don’t want to pay the best bit of £200
getting it resprayed as thats roughly about 10% of the cost of the car. Any
help would be very much appreciated

My throttle does not always return to normal idling speed of 950 RPM but
settles at about 1200 RPM.
I have looked at the diesel pump and found the cause to be the throttle
shock absorber which is used  as a spring to return the throttle to idle
speed.
I have been to the local Peugeot dealer and quoted £114 for a replacement
for me to fit. The part is made by BOSH and has a Bosh part number. Any
ideas where I might be able to obtain a new one. Having taken the part off
which is marked with legend STARTER SHOCK  all seems to work normal. Apart
from returning the throttle to slow running does this part perform any other
function and therefore can I run permanently without.

I have a 2yr old Partner Combi thats been perfect (well apart from a
rattling clip on the Air filter, and messed up indicators, and a broken
dirvers electric window)

Now its started to misbehave again.  Before i take it back to the dealer,
does anyone have a quick solution which wont involve the usual

"3-4 weeks for the part….yes i know the boot wont lock but sorry, nothing
we can do….."

When i operate the central locking everything locks.  Apart from the boot,
it makes the locking noise, but when you try to open it its not locked.

You cannot lock it with the keym just feels kind of spongey when you try….

with a bit of messing, you can get it to lock, but it takes around 10 mins
of "on off" lock unlock, kick the car, slam the boot etc etc and then it
will lock…

Untill i go out agan, and its unlocked!!

This is a repost due to some problems posting.

To cut a long story short –

Can i fit any other bumper (other than from a 306 SXI 1995 Model) and
front passenger side light to my SXI?

I tried to fit a standard 306 bumper from my local scrap yard and it
wouldnt fit.

The cost of a new one is about £250 from peugeot and £30 from a scrap
yard!  The same sort of figures go for the lights too!
