306 radio removal

Need to get at the radio serial number (to get the code), what’s the
knack to getting this out without using the special tools?
It’s the Clarion model btw

406 radio stopped working

The radio in my ’99 406 stopped working today. Have checked the main fuses
under the bonnet and they are all ok.
Can anyone suggest my next course of action, please? Is there a ‘local’ fuse
for the radio or a common fix?

TIA,

Andrew

306 Airbag warning light

I’m wondering if anyone has had a problem with their airbag warning lights flashing?  I know it means take it to the dealer…  I’m just wanting to know what it really means, like which bit is the problem?  Isolating the passenger airbag makes no difference.

Thanks

HDi 'chipping'

I have a 306 HDi, anyone tried any of the kits to ‘chip’ an HDi?  What’s the best way and how much?

Thanks

[306] 13l per 100km/h – What's wrong with my car?

Hi!

My 306 XT needs 13l for 100km. So that’s about 15miles / gallon!
Terrible!

Does anyone know if there is anything that affects fuel consumption as
drastic as that and can be fixed easily or does the car need a complete
tune-up?

(306) What should I ask for

Hi all,

I just had my 306 XSI M reg into a Peugeot Main dealer to have the heater
and fans replaced, as they recently stopped working due to a
faulty water seal letting in water and buring out the fan motor etc!

Now I went to a main dealer as I expect a certain level of service over and
above your everyday high street garage! (No disrepect meant to
any mechanics that work in a high street garage there).

All seemed ok when I got the car back, but after a few miles 40 ish I
noticed a load of water in the passenger footwell.  So checking the
water out, I found it be engine coolant, so the heater matrix is leaking
worse than a bad fitting nappy!

So its going back to the dealer on Saturday, to have it fixed again!  But Im
a little bit put out in that I paid over £240 to have a problem
fixed only for them to cause another one!

I havent used the car for a while as I dont want to break it, I live over 40
miles from where I work so I have been using the train, (its a 2 hour
journey each way)

So what do you guys think I should ask for to keep me sweet, a refund on the
cost of repairs, free/half price service.  Or do I just have to roll over
and
take it???

Cheers,

Paul

Vacuum system 1998 406 TD

The 406 1.9 DT engine (XUD9TE) seems to have a very complex vacuum system
with a pump, some electrical contraollled valves and lots of (rubber) tubes.
One of the tubes in my care is loose at the moment, it seems to have
‘slipped off’ a connector somewhere, due to a small crack. It is connected
to the bottom side of the valve direct against the passenger compartment.
With the engine running, there is a small air pressure on it (no vacuum).
Where should it be connected to?
Maybe this helps: I expect it to have appeared at the same time that my
turbo is making a strange hissing sound. The engine, however, seems to have
as much power as before. Do these 2 small problems have to do with
eachother? Who can help me?
Thanks

1995 405 heater flap problem

My heater mixer flaps have stuck in the cold position. Could be stuck
flaps or knackered motor. This is not going to be an issue for the
summer but I need to fix it ready for cooler weather.

Please can anyone tell me where the motor /mixer flaps are located and
the best route in. I’ve had part of the dash off near the controls
before but this did not look too promising for access to the heater
works.

Maybe dive from the glove box region?

Any guidance most welcome

TIA

Bob
