Bosch fuel pump mod

hey,

read the thread ‘tuning the XU deisel’, and the tweaking of the pump seems
easy enough, but i got a few questions bout it

how many turns is to many on the max speed adj. screw?
how will i know when too much is to much?
where is this anti-smoke adj. screw? (hanyes manual dont list it)
fourthly, where is this full load adj. screw?

i think i`ll leave the wastegate till the turbo goes balls up – 306 done
114k – 120k is an average turbo life, right?

307 Anti Pollution Fault

Our 6 month old 307 SW 2.0 petrol has recently been showing an
anti-pollution fault and the engine management light has illuminated.

The Peugeot dealer could make no sense of the fault on the diagnostic
machine, has cleared it and claims on test drives it has not come back.

We are heading for France on Friday – should I have any concerns, or are
false alarms a known entity?

Thanks
David.

206 CD Changer jumps

Hi,

I’m having a problem with my CDC in my 206.  While driving its prone to
make the CDs jump.  The CDC is located in the boot.  It is not really
secured in – just in its carpeted enclosure on the left hand side of the
boot space – it can be pulled out with ease.  Should it be secured with
brackets of some kind?  Is there any way I can stop the jumping?  I was
thinking of padding it out so that it fills into its enclosure more?

Any help, greatly appreciated.

Kr,
Chris

MOT recommendations

got the 306 MOT’d the other week – 13months of mot-free driving, but they
gave me a short list of the recommended fixures

these were :-
1) front shocks – they said i might aswell weld metal rods in there place. –
it’s been droped 60mm all round, using standard shocks on the front. anyone
know where i can get JUST the ‘lowered-spec’ shocks without springs –
everyone sells them with the springs

2) n/s number plate bulb blown – easy ’nuff

3) steering column top bush – went down pug dealer, and they couldnt find a
steering column bush for the 306 – arent they looking? or do i have to part
with £100 for a new column (thats what the dealer said). also the HBOL didnt
list anything about replacing  bushes.

4) ARB link bar ball joint rubbers split –  hopefully get these on warantee.
definatly changed both within the last 10months or so

thanks in advance

Power Steering noise from engine

Hi all,

Never had a power assisted steering car before, until I got my 206 a few
weeks back.  Anyway I noticed today that when I turn the wheel it makes a
sort of hissing sound from the engine.  Is this normal?

TIA ;o)

206 checks?

Hi all,

I bought a 206 a few weeks back.  I’ve never had a car with power assisted
steering before – are there any checks I need to do regarding this?  I
heard there is some PAS fluid that the level needs checking?

What other checks should I be doing reguarly?

Thanks for your time.

Kr,
Chris.

2ltr 406 coure – Can anyone help identify a loose wire

Hi all

Whilst under the bonnnet on the weekend I found a 20 cm wire and connector
that seems to be disconnected. from somewhere.  It it located behind the
headlight between the headlight and battery. (Right front of car)

The connector is Black, about 1 CM square with a purple insert.
It is 2 wires one is cream the other is green/yellow stripe.

It appears to have been previously connected but I cannot find a
corresponding socket.

As far as I can tell all lights are functioning correctly.
Vehicle is 2002 2ltr (UK Right hand drive).

Anyone know what it is and where it belongs.

CD Multichanger for 206

I’ve just bought a 206 which has a Clarion RD3 radio/cd player.

I am wanting to fit a Autochanger without putting in a whole new system.

I’ve been on the Peugeot web site, they want £300 for a autochanger which is
way too much as far as I’m concerned.

Does anybody know what model autochanger will connect to the Clarion that I
can buy from a normal car audio shop

Thanks

Steve
